- 2006 New York National Stationery Show
Held every May at the JABIT Convention Center, New York City, the National
Stationery Show this year took place from May 21st through 24th. This year’s
show was the most successful one in recent years, with 1,400 exhibitors and
14,000 attendees. The show was energized throughout the four days.
Our U.S. subsidiary, JP Trading, Inc., held a joint exhibition there with some major manufacturers of Japan and sent four people to the show, accompanied by another from its parent company. They carried out aggressive sales promotion and succeeded in collecting the largest wholesale orders in its history with the show, in terms of both the total value and the number of orders received. In addition, the Tokyo parent cut a new deal with several customers of Europe to directly export some products to them.
This success was ascribable to the following major factors: 1) We had products developed to meet the market’s needs. 2) We concentrated our selling efforts on hot sellers. 3) Experts from the respective manufacturers came to explain their products, and the display was effective. The presentations were appealing. 4) We had improved the furniture used to display the products.
In the future, we are determined to enhance our cooperation with manufacturers further, develop new, original products, and enter new markets.
