Visual technologies in Japan have been devised and advanced. Now we can watch almost anything we want on visual devises. In 1996, DVD made its debut as what we call it "the final packaged medium". DVD welcomes its 5th year with its ever-increasing popularity because DVD makers are now producing famous titles. At first, we donated our effort to popularize laser discs in Asian nations and expand its market. Now that we have a concrete track record in Asia, we are expanding our market to Europe, North and South America. We are also promoting sales in these new markets. In 2000, DVD's monthly sales have surpassed those of LDs. You might think this is the end of the LDs era, however, the demand for LDs from overseas is still stable. We keep on exporting all kinds of visual software including good old videotapes. We as Japan's largest music exporting firm seek the same position in the visual software's field.
